Marcus Cooper

Marcus is passionate about financial education and partners with clients to provide comfort and clarity with their investments and financial plans. He specializes in multigenerational investment planning for families, small businesses, endowments, and foundations.

Prior to joining Mercer Advisors in 2022, Marcus spent many years as an advisor at Morgan Stanley. A Virginia native with deep connections to the state, his family is recognized for their significant leadership contributions over several generations. Inspired by his late father, a financial advisor in Newport News, Marcus strives to be a true advocate and resource for his clients and community, putting them first and being present when life gets complicated.

Marcus graduated from the University of South Carolina. He is a member of Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church, where his wife serves as pastor and head of staff. In his community, he is involved with Junior Achievement of Central Virginia, Firehouse Theatre, and the Monticello Association.

Marcus and his wife are the proud parents of two children. He enjoys playing church league softball and attending his kids’ activities.
