Denver, November 21, 2024 – Mercer Advisors held its 6th annual InvestHERs Summit in Austin, Texas in early November. The summit brought 115 women from across Mercer Advisors together for two days filled with engaging speakers, conversation circles, and opportunities to connect with one another. This year’s theme was Be Authentic. Be Bold. Be EmpowHERed.
Founded in 2018, the InvestHERs program has a dual purpose — to be a wealth management firm of choice for female investors and to be one of the leading places to work for women in the financial services industry. We are proud that 50% of our client-facing roles are filled by women. Women are playing an ever-increasing role in wealth management, and initiatives like InvestHERs help to forge a future where women’s talents are cultivated and they feel empowered.
The summit kicked off with a fireside chat with Mercer Advisors CEO Dave Welling and Dimensional Fund Advisors co-CEO Dave Butler. The session, moderated by Executive Managing Director Laura Combs, was rich with insights on how women can show up authentically in their roles, and how other leaders across the organization can champion and support women in meaningful ways. Sessions also covered the importance of telling your authentic story, empowering one another, and the importance of a positive mindset.
“For me, InvestHERs is more than an event. It’s a reminder of the strength that comes from supporting one another, from bringing authenticity to every interaction, and from leading with boldness and intention,” said Combs.
In addition to enriching sessions, attendees also had the opportunity to help those in need by participating in The Happy Hope Foundation’s Happy Hope Bags initiative. Attendees packed bags with activities to be delivered to children in need at the Ronald McDonald Houses in Houston and Austin. Giving back to the community is an important part of InvestHERs.
The summit provided inspiration for the attendees that they will be able to carry into the last part of the year and into the next.
