Alan McKnight

Alan began his wealth management career in 1996, serving as principal and senior advisor at Kays Financial Advisory Corporation, which joined Mercer Advisors in 2020. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, Alan enjoys advising individuals and families on insurance planning, college funding, retirement planning, investment planning, tax planning, and estate planning. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Florida, an MBA in finance from Kennesaw State University, and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University. Inspired by his college professor, who was a financial planner, Alan pursued a career in wealth management. For more than 20 years, he has been a part-time lecturer of finance at the University of Florida and has taught in other CFP® Board Registered financial planning programs. Outside of work, Alan practices Tae Kwon Do and has earned his first and second-degree black belts. He also loves playing golf, volunteering for the East Lake Foundation, and being active in his local church. Alan resides in Greensboro.
