Greg Alger

Greg oversees the management of unique assets within client accounts, including oil and gas interests, family business interests, and real estate holdings. With more than 35 years of experience in trusts, oil, gas, real estate, and unique investments, Greg has been a key member of the team since joining Kanaly Trust in 1990, which later merged with Mercer Advisors in 2016.

Greg’s career began in the oil and gas industry in 1985, and he has since developed extensive expertise in petroleum land management and fiduciary obligations, particularly in Texas and Louisiana. He is driven by the opportunity to engage with diverse clients and their families, helping them achieve their financial goals across generations.

A native of Houston, Greg graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in petroleum land management. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, as well as fishing, sailing, playing tennis, and participating in various outdoor sports.

Greg has also served as his high school alumni president and class president, organizing reunions and fundraisers.
